The process
One clinic session gives you the exact numbers your body needs — sodium concentration, sweat rate, and a personalised plan built around both. No guessing. No averages. Just your data.
What happens
Every session follows the same structure — conversation first, test second, plan third. Here's exactly what to expect.
Before anything else, we talk. Your training history, the events you're targeting, any cramping episodes or performance issues you've experienced, and your current nutrition and hydration habits.
This context matters. A plan for someone training for their first marathon looks very different from one built for an Ironman veteran. The conversation shapes everything that follows.
Using a clinically-precise sweat inducer placed on your forearm, we stimulate a small patch of skin to produce sweat — no treadmill, no effort, no exercise required. The device uses a mild electrical current to activate local sweat glands only.
We collect the sweat sample and analyse it on the spot. The result is your exact sweat sodium concentration in milligrams per litre — the number that doesn't change with training and that drives your entire hydration strategy.
The Precision Fuel & Hydration clinical sweat test is trusted by professional cycling teams, Ironman athletes, and elite runners — and it's the only certified method available in Victoria.
With your results in hand, we build your hydration and fuelling plan together. Reece explains what your numbers mean, how they compare to the range we see across athletes, and exactly how to apply them to your specific events and training conditions.
You leave with a complete, written plan — not a printout of generic guidelines, but a document built around your sodium concentration, your sweat rate, your events, and your product preferences.
Your deliverables
One session. Everything you need to stop guessing and start racing with real data behind every hydration decision.
How it works
The most common question we get: "How can you test my sweat without me exercising?"
The sweat inducer uses a process called iontophoresis — a mild, painless electrical current delivered to a small patch on your forearm. This activates the local sweat glands without any physical effort on your part.
Crucially, your sweat sodium concentration is a fixed physiological characteristic — it doesn't change based on how hard you're working or how hot it is. So testing at rest gives us the same number you'd produce on race day. The sweat rate varies with conditions; the concentration does not.
This is the same method used by the Precision Fuel & Hydration Performance Lab — trusted by professional cycling teams, triathletes, and elite runners worldwide.
